The Project

Board games have been a cornerstone of social life for thousands of years, so deeply woven into the fabric of human communities that they became traditions passed down through generations.

These games, often traveling from culture to culture, offer fascinating insights into intercultural contacts, migration, inclusion, and the layering of cultures over time. The teaching modules we designed harness these rich stories to explore human history from an intercultural and interdisciplinary perspective. Not only do they reveal the cultural dynamics of ancient games, but they also tap into the mathematical and logical challenges they pose.

Best of all, the modules are playful, providing teachers with engaging tools to bring gamified lessons into the classroom.
